the perfect bronzer
Struggling to find the correct bronzer color for your skin tone? For years I struggled to find the right shade of bronzer, too. I tried many of the top-selling brands.
One by one, I scratched each bronzer off my list of possibilites. I wasn’t finding a bronzer that worked for me, and soon began running out of new bronzers to try.
I was stumped. Unlike with foundation colors, most cosmetic companies only offer 1–2 bronzer colors. Why didn’t my skin tone work with any of the one-size-fits-all bronzers out there?
And then BAM! it hit me.
One-size-fits-all foundation color is impossible, so stop trying to find a one-size-fits-all bronzer color.
If people’s skin tones are so different that they require such different foundation colors, why would they be able to use the same bronzer color? A good contour color for my face (a few shades darker than my natural skin tone) may be many shades darker/lighter than the next person’s and may have very different undertones.
So instead of using a bronzer color for my contouring, I chose a foundation color a few shades darker than my own skin tone. It was embarrassingly easy, since there are so many different foundation colors out there.

My Bronzer Color — “Honey” |
And I haven’t needed to search for a bronzer ever since. (I wish I had figured this out twenty bronzers ago!)
Your favorite brand of foundation gets to be your new best friend again. As a bronzer.
